INGREDIENTS & PHILOSPHY
At Studio 1240, we believe skincare should be honest, effective, and simple. We focus on a small number of high-quality ingredients that actually work — chosen for their ability to nourish skin deeply rather than just sit on the surface.
WHAT WE USE

Grass-fed Tallow
The heart of many formulas. Its fatty acids closely resemble human sebum, allowing real absorption and barrier support. Naturally rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, it delivers meaningful nourishment without needing layers of extras.

Carefully selected botanicals
Such as jojoba, marula, grapeseed, rosehip, and evening primrose. These are chosen for their compatibility with skin and their nutrient profiles — lightweight hydration, antioxidants, and soothing properties. I have a special appreciation for our local African botanicals, like Marula oil and Moringa powder. I have seen these compounds grown and change people’s lives.

Minimal supporting ingredients
Beeswax for structure, fine clays for gentle polish, and pure essential oils chosen for both scent and skin benefits. Wherever possible, we use ingredients in their most unrefined and unprocessed forms — such as unrefined shea butter, virgin coconut oil, and cold-pressed oils — to preserve their natural goodness, vitamins, and potency. We keep formulas minimal because quality ingredients don’t need ten others to be effective. When you start with the right foundation, less truly is more.

WHAT WE DON’T USE
We deliberately avoid ingredients that can irritate, disrupt, or offer little real value — even if they are technically “natural.” Natural does not automatically mean safe or beneficial (think poison ivy – or worse!)
You will never find in our products:
• Synthetic fragrances, colours, or fillers
• Parabens, phthalates, sulfates, or preservatives
• Silicones, microplastics, or petroleum derivatives
• Hormone-disrupting chemicals
By removing water from most formulas, we eliminate the need for preservatives entirely. This creates more concentrated, stable products that focus on real results instead of dilution.
OUR PROMISE
Every ingredient has a purpose. Every formula is tested on our own skin and our family first. If it isn’t good enough and safe enough for us, it doesn’t leave the studio. This is skincare rooted in heritage, guided by science, and made with uncompromising quality — honest products that work.
New to Anhydrous Skincare?
Anhydrous means “no water” — pure oils, butters, and waxes, concentrated and stable without preservatives. Unlike water-based creams, these sink in deeply, nourish for real, and last longer.
What to Expect
At first, skin might feel richer or slightly oily for a day or two — that’s your skin’s barrier adjusting after years of stripping. Stick with it: 2–4 weeks of daily use, and most people notice softer, calmer skin that needs far less product.
How to Use It Right
• A little goes a long way: Use a pea-sized amount for butters, and a few drops for the serums.
• Warm butters between fingers — they melt easily. Serums? Just apply gently — they’re ready to go.
• Best on damp skin: After washing, pat dry but leave moist — helps everything absorb fast, no grease.
• Massage in, wait 5–10 minutes — it draws in, not out. No sticky shine all day.
This isn’t a compromise — it’s an upgrade. Your skin adapts, and suddenly, one round of real nourishment beats five layers of fluff.
We always recommend doing a small patch-test of each product. If you are sensitive to any of the ingredients, or if your patch-test reacts, discontinue use and consult your doctor for personalised advice.
